Yesterday's solar eclipse got me thinking about magical uses for eclipses. My husband and I traveled to Cleveland, TN, to witness the full solar eclipse, instead of the 90% where we live, and it was AMAZING! However, it gave me a migraine from hell which made for a terrible drive back home. On the bright side, I was able to make my solar eclipse water, which turned out to be worth every sick second!

Solar eclipse water (and lunar eclipse water) are made the same way as full moon water; sit your container out for the duration of the eclipse. I used my eclipse water for several things, but my main use was for something that I wanted to bring great change to, and I'm happy to say that it worked, rather rapidly.

The solar eclipse has great magic significance, as every element of an eclipse imbues power and acts as a gateway to unlocking otherworldly energy levels, providing a refreshing sense of renewal, exploration, and an excellent opportunity to release old patterns and construct new beginnings. Creating solar eclipse water offers a powerful source to connect with the energies of the Sun and Moon, enhancing the elemental connection of one's practice with the surrounding world.

Here is how to create solar eclipse water:

You will need a clean, clear jar and spring or mineral water. Fill the jar halfway with fresh spring or mineral water and put it in direct sunlight. Use old or natural fabric to loosely cover the opening of the jar and let it sit outside for the duration of the solar eclipse. As the eclipse unfolds, imagine the energy pouring into the jar and infusing into the water.

Solar eclipse water can be used for a myriad of things, such as offerings in altars dedicated to sun or moon spirits, placed on the third eye to increase psychic awareness and intuition, added in herbal preparations to amplify the energies of herbs, or used for cleansing and purification rituals. Pairing solar eclipse water with herbs like Elder, Hawthorn, and Rosebud can create a potent elixir for different magical purposes.

Here's how to create the solar eclipse elixir:

Ingredients:

- Solar eclipse water

- Elderberry Liqueur

- 1 teaspoon of dried Hawthorn Berries

- 1 teaspoon of dried Rosebuds

- 2 cinnamon sticks

Instructions:

Mix all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and allow infusing for 6-8 hours or overnight. Use a strainer to remove the solids and extract the elixir, then store it in a small spray bottle or dropper container. It can be used in different ways, including room spray or an invite for positive energy and good luck on your pulse points, to charge crystals or added to a bath for a magical and luxurious soak.

The ingredients, together, create a potent elixir that can be used for different magical purposes. The cinnamon sticks are warm and comforting, while representing prosperity and success. The solar eclipse water is highly charged with powerful energy from the sun and moon, making it a potent ingredient for any magical work. The Elderberry Liqueur is associated with good health, protection, and abundance. Hawthorn Berries are used for matters of the heart, such as love, romance, and emotional healing. Lastly, Rosebuds are associated with love, beauty, and self-care.

I hope this gives you ideas on how to use solar eclipse water and create something unique and magical for yourself.
