European traditions, especially in Germany, mushrooms ornaments are considered a lucky symbol for the coming year.
The Glückpilz, Lucky Mushroom, is a symbol of blessings, good-luck, and abundance for the New Year.
I enjoy mushrooms, and toadstools year round. I have some in my kitchen on a year-round tree.
I've made a variety of mushrooms from real cotton. They have a bronze wire skeleton, include a bronze hanger, and they are each decorated with real mica flakes on the caps.
I've made amanitas in red, yellow, and gray. I've made some common brown mushrooms as well.
They look charming on just about anything, seen here on a tree and in my kitchen window. I've also put them in a bowl, and they look very cute.
Handpainted with acrylic paints.
